Kickoff Meeting a Success!
Well, we had our kick off meeting today and I feel it was, albeit noisy, very successful... There were 12 of us crowding the back right hand corner of Red Rose. There were lots of "Hi, how are you's" to "where are you located" to "maybe I need to give you a call's" All in all I feel everyone melded together nicely... the group has a unique dynamic that I feel will also draw other professionals in.
We passed around our "Member Spotlight" sign up sheet and Justin Dion from Bacon & Wilson was brave enough to go first! Adding to his bravery was his generosity of utilizing a room right there at Bacon & Wilson located at 33 State Street right there in downtown and I am sure the space will prove to be much more quiet, not to mention B&W will also be providing lunch. (Thank you)
Although that option may not be available for everyone, if your business can host our group, that would be great! Otherwise please send me options of where we can meet from 11:30-1 the second Friday of each month and get a private room without the charge. Although, I will have to let you know that before I left I did follow up with Solange, the dining room manager and let her know the spot may not be conducive to our needs, we really need the back room and she did offer to cut the price of the backroom in half, now making the fee $75 although, we still will not be able to get separate checks, so... send me ideas!
I have a couple of your Member Profiles. Be sure to get me yours as soon as you can and I will post to the site. The way it worked out this morning wasn't too bad... 11:30 folks arrive - network, mingle, glance the menu - 11:45 I will go over any questions/answers from previous month and we can order lunch. 12 noon - go around the table giving our elevator speeches until say 12:15 that gives us two minutes each for our "60 second commercial"12:15 - 12:45 will give host speaker 30 minutes to offer up what they do and field a few questions from the group. 12:45-1 will be wind down - firm up next meeting location and final networking until we leave at 1pm.
As we get more members, our spotlight section will just get a little smaller, so... keep all your major points up front! And of course, we will be eating in there someplace :O)
I would also like you to think of who or what industry would be a good fit for your own business... That way there, any of us that may know someone in that particular business can mention the group, ultimately bringing you in new business.
I want to thank each one of you for coming today. I do feel this group will be a good mix... It all flowed this morning, again, relaxed yet focused...
